Gary has more than 30 years' experience in the UK and international oil and gas sector, specialising in joint venture management, negotiations, business development, dispute resolution, strategy and business planning, in tax and royalty and production sharing contract environments.
Gary spent 32 years with BP, initially in the North Sea as part of the commercial team that developed the innovative ETAP agreements, before moving to Egypt to be the Commercial Manager for BP’s growing domestic gas and LNG business. He returned to the North Sea where he held the position of Schiehallion Business Manager leading the agreement negotiations and joint venture sanction of the Glen Lyon FPSO project.
Further roles as BP’s west of Shetland Strategy and Planning Manager and central North Sea Commercial Manger meant he worked on every asset in BP’s North Sea portfolio. Acknowledged by OGA as a leader in delivering innovative commercial deals in complex joint ventures, Gary has collected two MER awards on behalf of the teams he has led.
Prior to joining Kellas Midstream, he was BP’s vice president commercial and planning, North Sea, and was responsible for shaping the company’s activity plans and optimising the commercial performance of the portfolio.
Gary is a graduate of the University of Manchester and has a Masters degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering.
