The Camphill Wellbeing Trust in Aberdeenshire is one of our new partner charities and we’ll be supporting them over the next few years with monetary donations as well as hands-on volunteering.
Camphill is a Scottish charity supporting the wellbeing of patients and their families through an integrated, person-centred approach to health, education and social care, focusing on learning disabilities, young people’s health, chronic conditions and residential therapeutic packages.
Specifically, we will be helping the charity’s Compass Project, a centre for healthy, sustainable living, where a team from Kellas previously volunteered in 2022.
The project’s May 2023 newsletter states:
‘Following their productive visit last September, we are delighted to announce a new partnership with Kellas Midstream. With their support in both man-power and a generous donation, Compass has been able to complete the ground preparation and erect its new polytunnel bringing in 20 tons of organic compost (produced from waste) for the first polytunnel beds and our outdoor no-dig beds. Kellas’ contribution has also enabled us to install a rainwater harvesting and irrigation system, designed specifically with the challenges of our sloping site in mind. We look forward to an ongoing partnership with Kellas Midstream.’
